Dr. Linda
Ellsworth wants you to be comfortable in your consultation,
whether you are just asking questions for the first time or
have already been through tests and procedures. Dr.
Ellsworth has been in private practice for twenty two years
and served on the University of Texas Health Science Center
faculty in San Antonio for three years prior to that. She is the
most highly trained doctor in the field of Fertility in our
area and looks forward to helping you. Dr.
Ellsworth received her Bachelor's Degree with Honors in
Biology from Rice University in Houston, Texas. She
completed her M.D., Internship, and Obstetrics and Gynecology
Residency in Ontario and Manitoba, Canada. Subsequently, she underwent
advanced training as a Fellow in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of
Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr.
Ellsworth also obtained a Ph.D. in Reproductive Physiology
while in London, Ontario. Her studies included
events around ovulation including corpus luteum formation and
maintenance of progesterone production. Dr.
Ellsworth was on the team which developed the GIFT (Gamete
Intrafallopian Transfer) procedure in San Antonio. While serving on the faculty
of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San
Antonio, she
participated in the world's first GIFT case in 1984, which
resulted in a successful twin pregnancy and delivery. Dr.
Ellsworth's efforts in private practice produced the first IVF
baby in San Antonio.
In addition to her professional practice, Dr.
Ellsworth is a Past President of the San Antonio OB-GYN
Society. She is also a member and served on the Board of
Directors of the San Antonio Rotary Club, the second largest
Rotary Club in the world. She is concerned about
international health and education, particularly
reproduction and fertility, both technical and ethical
aspects. |
